DOPAMINE TRANSPORTER; Polyclonal Antibody; RABBIT ANTI HUMAN DOPAMINE TRANSPORTER (C-TERMINAL); anti-SLC6A3 antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Monkey, Mouse
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item recognises an epitope within the C-terminal region (CT) of dopamine transporter (DAT), also known as solute carrier family 6.

DAT is principally expressed in the presynaptic membrane of dopaminergic nerve terminals, where it mediates the rapid removal of dopamine from the synaptic cleft after neuronal stimulation. As such, DAT plays an important role in regulating the availability of dopamine in the synaptic cleft and thus in modulating the physiological functions of dopamine.

The reuptake of dopamine by DAT is inhibited by psychostimulants such as cocaine and amphetamine.
Form/Format
Purified
Purified IgG - liquid
Sequence Length
620
Applicable Applications for anti-SLC6A3 antibody
Immunohistology Frozen, Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 88kDa in human caudate cell lysates.
Immunohistology - Frozen: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000
Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000
Perservative Stabilisers
0.09% Sodium Azide
0.01% Bovine Serum Albumin
50% Glycerol
Immunogen
Keyhole limpet haemocyanin conjugated synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus region (CT) of human dopamine transporter.
Buffer Solution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human dopamine transporter (CT) were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 12 months from date of despatch.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a dopamine transporter which is a member of the sodium- and chloride-dependent neurotransmitter transporter family. The 3' UTR of this gene contains a 40 bp tandem repeat, referred to as a variable number tandem repeat or VNTR, which can be present in 3 to 11 copies. Variation in the number of repeats is associated with idiopathic epilepsy, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, dependence on alcohol and cocaine, susceptibility to Parkinson disease and protection against nicotine dependence.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

DAT: Amine transporter. Terminates the action of dopamine by its high affinity sodium-dependent reuptake into presynaptic terminals. Defects in SLC6A3 are the cause of dystonia-parkinsonism infantile (DYTPRI). It is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by infantile onset of parkinsonism and dystonia. Other neurologic features include global developmental delay, bradikinesia and pyramidal tract signs. Belongs to the sodium:neurotransmitter symporter (SNF) (TC 2.A.22) family. SLC6A3 subfamily.

Product Notes

The SLC6A3 slc6a3 (Catalog #AAA221820) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI HUMAN DOPAMINE TRANSPORTER (C-TERMINAL) reacts with Monkey, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DOPAMINE TRANSPORTER can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 88kDa in human caudate cell lysates. Immunohistology - Frozen: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000 Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SLC6A3 slc6a3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DOPAMINE TRANSPORTER, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
