Related Product Information for anti-Dnmt3l antibody
mDnmt3L (DNA methyltransferase 3L) does not appear to be catalytically active due to loss of the critical active site residues. It may function not directly as a DNA methyltransferase but rather as a regulator of methylation at imprinted loci. It is required specifically for the establishment of genomic imprints but is dispensable for their propagation. It is essential for the de novo methylation of single-copy DNA sequences. The protein is well-express in testis, thymus, ovary, and heart. mDnmt3L, which belongs to the 5-cytosine methyltransferase family, contains 1 ADD-type zinc finger.

Uniprot Description

DNMT3L: Catalytically inactive regulatory factor of DNA methyltransferases. It is essential for the function of DNMT3A and DNMT3B. Activates DNMT3A and DNMT3B by binding to their catalytic domain. Accelerates the binding of DNA and AdoMet to the methyltransferases and dissociates from the complex after DNA binding to the methyltransferases. Recognizes unmethylated histone H3 lysine 4 (H3K4) and induces de novo DNA methylation by recruitment or activation of DNMT3. Belongs to the C5-methyltransferase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - cysteine and methionine; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor

Cellular Component: condensed nuclear chromosome; cytoplasm; nuclear heterochromatin; nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; enzyme binding; metal ion binding; enzyme activator activity

Biological Process: positive regulation of catalytic activity; methylation; in utero embryonic development; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; placenta development

Product Notes

The Dnmt3l dnmt3l (Catalog #AAA9207537) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 389-421. The Mouse Dnmt3L Antibody reacts with Human, mouse (Predicted Reactivity: Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Dnmt3L can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Dnmt3l dnmt3l for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dnmt3L, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
