Members of this family are enzymes that metabolize many different compounds, such as steroid hormones, prostaglandins, retinoids, lipids and xenobiotics. Belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
