Rabbit anti-Rat Deiodinase, Iodothyronine, Type II (DIO2) Polyclonal Antibody | anti-DIO2 antibody
Polyclonal Antibody to Deiodinase, Iodothyronine, Type II (DIO2)
Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL
Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 4ºC for frequent use.
Aliquot and store at -20ºC for 24 months.
Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the iodothyronine deiodinase family. It catalyzes the conversion of prohormone thyroxine (3,5,3',5'-tetraiodothyronine, T4) to the bioactive thyroid hormone (3,5,3'-triiodothyronine, T3) by outer ring 5'-deiodination. This gene is expressed in a few tissues in rat, including brain, pituitary and brown adipose tissue. It is thought to be responsible for the 'local' production of T3, and thus important in influencing thyroid hormone action in these tissues. Studies in rat suggest that this gene may play an important role in the regulation of lipid metabolism and thermogenesis, and in osteoarthritis pathogenesis by enhancing the chondrocyte hypertrophy and inflammatory response. This protein is a selenoprotein containing the rare selenocysteine (Sec) amino acid at its active site, and may contain additional Sec residues. Sec is encoded by the UGA codon, which normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTRs of selenoprotein mRNAs contain a conserved stem-loop structure, designated the Sec insertion sequence (SECIS) element, that is necessary for the recognition of UGA as a Sec codon, rather than as a stop signal. Uniprot Description
Catalyzes the deiodination of T4 (3,5,3',5'-tetraiodothyronine) into T3 (3,5,3'-triiodothyronine). Essential for providing the brain with appropriate levels of T3 during the critical period of development.

Product Notes
The DIO2 dio2 (Catalog #AAA2002305) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Deiodinase, Iodothyronine, Type II (DIO2) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Deiodinase, Iodothyronine, Type II (DIO2) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) - Formalin/Paraffin, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/mL Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DIO2 dio2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Deiodinase, Iodothyronine, Type II (DIO2), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
