Related Product Information for anti-DR4 antibody
Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, occurs during normal cellular differentiation and development of multicellular organisms. Apoptosis is induced by certain cytokines in the TNF family, including TNF and Fas ligand, through their death domain containing receptors, TNFR1 and Fas. A novel death domain containing receptor was recently identified and designated DR4 (for death receptor 4) (1). The ligand for this novel death receptor has been identified and termed TRAIL (2, 3), which is a new member in the TNF family. DR4 is also called TRAIL receptor-1 (TRAIL-R1) (4). DR4 is expressed in most human tissues including spleen, peripheral blood leukocytes, small intestine and thymus. Like TNFR1, Fas and DR3, DR4 mediates apoptosis and NF-kB activation in many tissues and cells.

Product Notes

The DR4 (Catalog #AAA4156975) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Death Receptor 4 (DR4) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Death Receptor 4 (DR4) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). This antibody has been tested for use in western blotting and immunohistochemistry. HeLa whole cell lysate can be used as a positive control for western blotting, and a band at approximately 57 kDa is expected. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DR4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Death Receptor 4 (DR4), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
