Related Product Information for anti-DDX17 antibody
DDX17 box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and splicesosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. This protein encodes a DEAD box protein, which is an ATPase activated by a variety of RNA species, but not by dsDNA. This protein, and that encoded by DDX5 gene, are more closely related to each other than to any other member of the DEAD box family.

Uniprot Description

DDX17: RNA-dependent ATPase activity. Involved in transcriptional regulation. Transcriptional coactivator for estrogen receptor ESR1. Increases ESR1 AF-1 domain-mediated transactivation. Synergizes with DDX5 and SRA1 RNA to activate MYOD1 transcriptional activity and probably involved in skeletal muscle differentiation. Required for zinc-finger antiviral protein ZC3HAV1-mediated mRNA degradation. Belongs to the DEAD box helicase family. DDX5/DBP2 subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: RNA-binding; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; Nucleolus; Spliceosome; RNA processing; EC 3.6.4.13; Helicase; Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; membrane; nucleolus; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; RNA-dependent ATPase activity; RNA binding; transcription coactivator activity; estrogen receptor binding; RNA helicase activity; ATP binding

Biological Process: RNA processing; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of estrogen receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The DDX17 ddx17 (Catalog #AAA644322) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DDX17, NT (DDX17, Probable ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX17, DEAD box protein 17, DEAD box protein p72, RNA-dependent helicase p72) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DDX17 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100 Flow Cytometry: 1:10-50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DDX17 ddx17 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DDX17, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
