Rat immunogenic peptide sequence is specific for Cx37 and no significant homology is seen with other Connexin. It shows 95% and 52% sequence homology with the mouse and human Cx37, respectively (3). For human Cx37, we recommend the use of CX37A11 (antibody # 1) that is raised to a more conserved peptide. Antibody crossreactivity in various species is not studies. Control peptide, because of the small size of ~2-3kD, is not recommended for Western. It should be used in ELISA or for antibody blocking experiments to establish antibody specificity in Western, IHC or other immunoassays

Immunogen
A 19 amino acid peptide sequence within the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of rat Cx37 (2) was used to generate anti-Mouse Cx37. Peptide was coupled to KLH (carrier protein) Via the N-terminal Cysteine
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
