Rabbit anti-Human Collagen VIII alpha1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-COL8A1 antibody
Collagen VIII alpha1 Antibody
Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Subunit Structure: Homotrimers, or heterotrimers in association with alpha 2(VIII) type collagens. Four homotrimers can form a tetrahedron stabilized by central interacting C-terminal NC1 trimers.
Post-translational Modifications: Prolines at the third position of the tripeptide repeating unit (G-X-Y) are hydroxylated in some or all of the chains. Proteolytically cleaved by neutrophil elastase, in vitro. Proteolytic processing produces the C-terminal NC1 domain fragment, vastatin.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Predicted: 74 kDa
NCBI Description
This gene encodes one of the two alpha chains of type VIII collagen. The gene product is a short chain collagen and a major component of the basement membrane of the corneal endothelium. The type VIII collagen fibril can be either a homo- or a heterotrimer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been observed. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Uniprot Description
Macromolecular component of the subendothelium. Major component of the Descemet's membrane (basement membrane) of corneal endothelial cells. Also component of the endothelia of blood vessels. Necessary for migration and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells and thus, has a potential role in the maintenance of vessel wall integrity and structure, in particular in atherogenesis.

Product Notes
The COL8A1 col8a1 (Catalog #AAA9609219) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Collagen VIII alpha1 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Collagen VIII alpha1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:1000-3000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the COL8A1 col8a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Collagen VIII alpha1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
