Rabbit CNN2 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-CNN2 antibody
CNN2 antibody - N-terminal region
Target Description: CNN2, which can bind actin, calmodulin, troponin C, and tropomyosin, may function in the structural organization of actin filaments. CNN2 could play a role in smooth muscle contraction and cell adhesion. The protein encoded by this gene, which can bind actin, calmodulin, troponin C, and tropomyosin, may function in the structural organization of actin filaments. The encoded protein could play a role in smooth muscle contraction and cell adhesion. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene, which can bind actin, calmodulin, troponin C, and tropomyosin, may function in the structural organization of actin filaments. The encoded protein could play a role in smooth muscle contraction and cell adhesion. Several pseudogenes of this gene have been identified, and are present on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 21 and 22. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]
Uniprot Description
calponin 2: Thin filament-associated protein that is implicated in the regulation and modulation of smooth muscle contraction. It is capable of binding to actin, calmodulin, troponin C and tropomyosin. The interaction of calponin with actin inhibits the actomyosin Mg-ATPase activity. Belongs to the calponin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Actin-binding; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3
Cellular Component: focal adhesion; cytoskeleton; membrane; stress fiber; intercellular junction
Molecular Function: calmodulin binding; actin binding
Biological Process: regulation of actin filament-based process; negative regulation of phagocytosis; wound healing; actomyosin structure organization and biogenesis; cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; hemopoiesis; negative regulation of cell migration; regulation of cell proliferation

Product Notes
The CNN2 cnn2 (Catalog #AAA3210570) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CNN2 antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat, Zebrafish and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CNN2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CNN2 cnn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MSSTQFNKGP SYGLSAEVKN RLLSKYDPQK EAELRTWIEG LTGLSIGPDF. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CNN2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
