Rabbit anti-Human Chordin Polyclonal Antibody | anti-CHRD antibody
Rabbit Polyclonal to Human Chordin
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Anti-Chordin antibody IHC staining of human pancreatic duct. Immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue after heat-induced antigen retrieval.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocarcinoma tissue reacted with CHRD antibody (C-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining.)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot of anti-CHRD Antibody (C-term) in HepG2 cell line lysates (35 ug/lane). CHRD(arrow) was detected using the purified Pab (1:60 dilution).)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a secreted protein that dorsalizes early vertebrate embryonic tissues by binding to ventralizing TGF-beta-like bone morphogenetic proteins and sequestering them in latent complexes. The encoded protein may also have roles in organogenesis and during adulthood. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. Other alternative splice variants have been described but their full length sequence has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
CHRD: Dorsalizing factor. Key developmental protein that dorsalizes early vertebrate embryonic tissues by binding to ventralizing TGF-beta family bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) and sequestering them in latent complexes. Belongs to the chordin family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Cell adhesion; Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q27
Cellular Component: extracellular space
Molecular Function: syndecan binding; heparin binding; protein binding; cytokine binding
Biological Process: BMP signaling pathway in spinal cord dorsal-ventral patterning; osteoblast differentiation; floor plate development; positive regulation of cell adhesion; mesoderm formation; forebrain development; positive regulation of mesenchymal cell proliferation; negative regulation of osteoblast differentiation; gastrulation with mouth forming second; negative regulation of cell migration; skeletal development; negative regulation of BMP signaling pathway

Product Notes
The CHRD chrd (Catalog #AAA248426) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human Chordin reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Chordin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (10 ug/ml), WB (1:1000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHRD chrd for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Chordin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
