Principle of the Assay||CHRD ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a Polyclonal anti-CHRD antibody and an CHRD -HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CHRD -HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CHRD concentration since CHRD from samples and CHRD -HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CHRD antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CHRD from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CHRD -HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CHRD concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a secreted protein that dorsalizes early vertebrate embryonic tissues by binding to ventralizing TGF-beta-like bone morphogenetic proteins and sequestering them in latent complexes. The encoded protein may also have roles in organogenesis and during adulthood. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. Other alternative splice variants have been described but their full length sequence has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description

Product Notes
The Canine CHRD chrd (Catalog #AAA7238916) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7238916 ELISA Kit recognizes Canine CHRD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Chordin (CHRD), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
