Relevance
Catalyzes the formation of 25-hydroxycholesterol from cholesterol, leading to repress cholesterol biosynthetic enzymes (PubMed:9852097). Plays a key role in cell positioning and movement in lymphoid tissues: 25-hydroxycholesterol is an intermediate in biosynthesis of 7-alpha,25-dihydroxycholesterol (7-alpha,25-OHC), an oxysterol that acts as a ligand for the G protein-coupled receptor GPR183/EBI2, a chemotactic receptor for a number of lymphoid cells. May play an important role in regulating lipid metabolism by synthesizing a corepressor that blocks sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP) processing. In testis, production of 25-hydroxycholesterol by macrophages may play a role in Leydig cell differentiation.

Description
We uses the recombinant human CH25H protein (142-272AA) to immunize rabbits and then purify the rabbit antiserum through protein G to obtain the anti-CH25H antibody. This CH25H antibody is a polyclonal antibody and occurs as an unconjugated IgG. Its purity is greater than 95%. It only reacts with human CH25H protein, an IFN-induced enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of cholesterol to 25-hydroxycholesterol (25HC) to reduce cholesterol accumulation. 25HC, a natural oxysterol, plays a role in regulating cholesterol homeostasis and sterol biosynthesis and exerts broad-spectrum antiviral function. And this anti-CH25H antibody can be used in ELISA and IHC for the detection of the CH25H protein.

NCBI Description

This is an intronless gene that is involved in cholesterol and lipid metabolism. The encoded protein is a membrane protein and contains clusters of histidine residues essential for catalytic activity. Unlike most other sterol hydroxylases, this enzyme is a member of a small family of enzymes that utilize diiron cofactors to catalyze the hydroxylation of hydrophobic substrates. Uniprot Description

CH25H: Catalyzes the formation of 25-hydroxycholesterol from cholesterol, leading to repress cholesterol biosynthetic enzymes. May play an important role in regulating lipid metabolism by synthesizing a corepressor that blocks sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP) processing. In testis, production of 25- hydroxycholesterol by macrophages may play a role in Leydig cell differentiation. Belongs to the sterol desaturase family.

Product Notes

The CH25H ch25h (Catalog #AAA7051849) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CH25H Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CH25H can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELSIA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC:1:20-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CH25H ch25h for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CH25H, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
