Related Product Information for anti-Calcr antibody
Rabbit anti Rat Calcitonin Receptor antibody recognizes the calcitonin receptor in human, mouse and rat. The calcitonin receptor is a seven transmembrane domain cell surface protein which is coupled to G protein messenger systems. MBS221657 recognizes an epitope within the cytoplasmic domain that is common to both C1a and C1b rat isoforms. Calcitonin receptor is expressed in kidney, central and peripheral nervous systems and in osteoclasts. It is also expressed in a number of tissues during the development of the embryo and may be important in foetal morphogenesis.

NCBI Description

receptor for calcitonin; acts via adenylate cyclase signaling [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

CALCR: This is a receptor for calcitonin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. The calcitonin receptor is thought to couple to the heterotrimeric guanosine triphosphate-binding protein that is sensitive to cholera toxin. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; GPCR, family 2; Receptor, GPCR

Cellular Component: neuron projection; cell soma; axon; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; acrosome; cytosol; cilium

Molecular Function: calcitonin binding; receptor activity; protein transporter activity; calcitonin receptor activity

Biological Process: regulation of bone resorption; response to glucocorticoid stimulus; adenylate cyclase activation; osteoclast differentiation; regulation of mRNA stability; G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase activating pathway; G-protein signaling, coupled to cAMP nucleotide second messenger; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; protein transport; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; phospholipase C activation; receptor internalization; positive regulation of cAMP biosynthetic process; negative regulation of ossification; positive regulation of adenylate cyclase activity

Product Notes

The Calcr calcr (Catalog #AAA221657) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI RAT CALCITONIN RECEPTOR reacts with Atlantic Stingray, Fish, Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CALCITONIN RECEPTOR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, ELISA (EIA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). Immunohistology - Frozen: Minimum Dilution: 1/10; Maximum Dilution: 1/50; ELISA: Maximum Dilution: 1/10,000; Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 1/10; Maximum Dilution: 1/50; Application Note: The use of 4% paraformaldehyde fixation, rather than formalin fixation is recommended.

A sensitive detection system is also recommended. e.g. A catalysed signal amplification system. Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: Reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Calcr calcr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CALCITONIN RECEPTOR, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
