Related Product Information for anti-BTF antibody
This gene encodes a transcriptional repressor that interacts with several members of the BCL2 family of proteins. Overexpression of this protein induces apoptosis, which can be suppressed by co-expression of BCL2 proteins. The protein localizes to dot-like structures throughout the nucleus, and redistributes to a zone near the nuclear envelope in cells undergoing apoptosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Uniprot Description

BCLAF1: a ubiquitous death-promoting transcriptional repressor. Interacts with Bcl-2 related proteins, lamin A, emerin, the adenovirus E1B 19 kDa protein and DNA. An emerin mutant S54F, which binds normally to barrier-to-autointegration factor (BAF), lamin A and GCL, selectively disrupts its binding to BCLAF1. BCLAF1 is found in dot-like structures throughout the nuclear interior in HeLa cells. Proapoptotic stimuli induce its redistribution to a distinct zone near the nuclear envelope. Four alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Transcription factor; RNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q23.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleolus; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; DNA binding

Biological Process: regulation of transcription in response to stress; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of apoptosis; apoptosis; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The BTF bclaf1 (Catalog #AAA241675) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human BTF / BCLAF1 reacts with Chimpanzee, Chicken, Dog, Human, Mosquito, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BTF / BCLAF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (10 ug/ml), WB (0.5 - 2 ug/ml) Usage: Immunohistochemistry: was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary anti.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BTF bclaf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BTF / BCLAF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
