Related Product Information for anti-BRD4 antibody
BRD4 is homologous to the murine protein MCAP, which associates with chromosomes during mitosis, and to the human RING3 protein, a serine/threonine kinase. Each of these proteins contains two bromodomains, a conserved sequence motif which may be involved in chromatin targeting. The gene has been implicated as the chromosome 19 target of translocation t(15;19)(q13;p13.1), which defines an upper respiratory tract carcinoma in young people.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is homologous to the murine protein MCAP, which associates with chromosomes during mitosis, and to the human RING3 protein, a serine/threonine kinase. Each of these proteins contains two bromodomains, a conserved sequence motif which may be involved in chromatin targeting. This gene has been implicated as the chromosome 19 target of translocation t(15;19)(q13;p13.1), which defines an upper respiratory tract carcinoma in young people. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

BRD4: an atypical protein kinase of the Brd family. Contains a double bromodomain. Binds to chromatin and regulates cell cycle progression at multiple stages. Associates with chromosomes during mitosis. The cognate gene is the chromosome 19 target of translocation t(15;19)(q13;p13.1), resulting in the BRD4-NUT oncogene identified in a lethal carcinoma of young people. Binds to papillomavirus E2 protein and is required for its transforming ability. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Protein kinase, atypical; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); ATYPICAL group; BRD family

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; transcription elongation factor complex b; condensed nuclear chromosome; nuclear chromatin; cytoplasm; chromosome; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; DNA binding; p53 binding; chromatin binding

Product Notes

The BRD4 brd4 (Catalog #AAA9213744) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-30. The BRD4 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BRD4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC~~1:50~100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BRD4 brd4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BRD4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
