Goat AXIN1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-AXIN1 antibody
Goat anti-AXIN1 Antibody
Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Adrenal Gland shows membranous and fibrous staniing in and around secretory cells of the zona fasciculata in the cortex. Recommended concentration, 3-5ug/ml.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 150kDa and 22-24kDa in Human Brain (Hippocampus) lysates after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 95.6kDa according to NP_003493.1 and 91.7kDa according to NP_851393.1. The detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands).
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein which contains a regulation of G-protein signaling (RGS) domain and a dishevelled and axin (DIX) domain. The encoded protein interacts with adenomatosis polyposis coli, catenin beta-1, glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta, protein phosphate 2, and itself. This protein functions as a negative regulator of the wingless-type MMTV integration site family, member 1 (WNT) signaling pathway and can induce apoptosis. The crystal structure of a portion of this protein, alone and in a complex with other proteins, has been resolved. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatoblastomas, ovarian endometriod adenocarcinomas, and medullablastomas. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
Uniprot Description
axin 1: is a negative regulator of the Wnt pathway, which is critical in stem cell signaling, morphogenesis, the mesenchymal-epithelial transition, and many cancers. Axin-1 functions as a tumor suppressor. Probably facilitates the phosphorylation of beta-catenin and APC by GSK3B, leading to their ubiquitination and subsequent proteolysis. Wild-type axin 1 can induce apoptosis in hepatocellular and colorectal cancer cells. Is downregulated during progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Mutation of the axin-1 gene is associated with hepatocellular carcinoma, anaplastic thyroid cancer, medulloblastoma and colorectal cancer. May have a role in oncogenesis in Hodgkin lymphoma. Axin1/2 mediate cross-talk between TGF-beta and Wnt signaling pathways.

Product Notes
The AXIN1 axin1 (Catalog #AAA420920) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-AXIN1 Antibody reacts with Tested: Human; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AXIN1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 128000. The detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AXIN1 axin1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: FEEKIIGKVE KVD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AXIN1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
