Uniprot Description

ATG13: an autophagy factor required for autophagosome formation. Target of the TOR kinase signaling pathway that regulates autophagy through the control of the phosphorylation status of ATG13 and ULK1, and the regulation of the ATG13-ULK1-RB1CC1 complex. Under starvation conditions, is localized to puncate structures primarily representing the isolation membrane; the isolation membrane sequesters a portion of the cytoplasm resulting in autophagosome formation. Phosphorylated by ULK1 and ULK2. Phosphorylation status depends on nutrient-rich conditions; dephosphorylated during starvation or following treatment with rapamycin. Part of a complex consisting of ATG13, ULK1 and RB1CC1. Interacts with ATG101. Interacts with ULK1 and -2 via C-terminus. Three isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Autophagy; Vesicle

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p11.2

Cellular Component: mitochondrion; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein kinase binding

Biological Process: autophagic vacuole formation

Product Notes

The ATG13 atg13 (Catalog #AAA224327) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI ATG13 reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ATG13 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). ELISA: This product is suitable for use in indirect ELISA applications. Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 49 kDa in Rat heart tissue lysates. Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 5ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATG13 atg13 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATG13, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
