Related Product Information for anti-CTBP1 antibody
The C-terminal-binding protein (CtBP) was originally identified as a cellular protein that interacts with a C-terminal motif of adenovirus E1A oncoproteins. CtBP is highly conserved in higher eukaryotes. Vertebrates contain two highly homologous CtBP proteins (CtBP1 and CtBP2) while invertebrates contain a single CtBP. CtBP family proteins share significant sequence homology with D-2-hydroxy acid dehydrogenases. Also, CtBP proteins associate with various proteins and functions as a co-repressor of transcription.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that binds to the C-terminus of adenovirus E1A proteins. This phosphoprotein is a transcriptional repressor and may play a role during cellular proliferation. This protein and the product of a second closely related gene, CTBP2, can dimerize. Both proteins can also interact with a polycomb group protein complex which participates in regulation of gene expression during development. Alternative splicing of transcripts from this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Corepressor targeting diverse transcription regulators such as GLIS2 or BCL6. Has dehydrogenase activity. Involved in controlling the equilibrium between tubular and stacked structures in the Golgi complex. Functions in brown adipose tissue (BAT) differentiation.

Product Notes

The CTBP1 ctbp1 (Catalog #AAA200205) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CTBP1 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CTBP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500. Recommended starting dilution is 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CTBP1 ctbp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CTBP1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
