Related Product Information for anti-ANG antibody
Angiogenin (ANG), an angiogenic ribonuclease, is a member of the vertebrate-specific, secreted RNASE superfamily. Angiogenin, originally identified as a tumor angiogenic factor, was related with the growth and metastasis of numerous tumors. Angiogenin has been proposed as a permissive factor for angiogenesis induced by other angiogenic factors, including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor, acidic fibroblast growth factor, and epidermal growth factor. Angiogenin production and secretion may be stimulated by hypoxia. Increased angiogenin serum levels have been associated with the incidence and severity of several human tumors, including HCC. It is a 17kDa precursor which is cleaved to generate the 14kDa mature protein.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an exceedingly potent mediator of new blood vessel formation. It hydrolyzes cellular tRNAs resulting in decreased protein synthesis and is similar to pancreatic ribonuclease. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein. This gene and the gene that encodes ribonuclease, RNase A family, 4 share promoters and 5' exons. Each gene splices to a unique downstream exon that contains its complete coding region. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ANG: May function as a tRNA-specific ribonuclease that abolishes protein synthesis by specifically hydrolyzing cellular tRNAs. Binds to actin on the surface of endothelial cells; once bound, angiogenin is endocytosed and translocated to the nucleus. Angiogenin induces vascularization of normal and malignant tissues. Angiogenic activity is regulated by interaction with RNH1 in vivo. Defects in ANG are the cause of susceptibility to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 9 (ALS9). ALS is a degenerative disorder of motor neurons in the cortex, brain stem and spinal cord. ALS is characterized by muscular weakness and atrophy. Belongs to the pancreatic ribonuclease family.

Product Notes

The ANG ang (Catalog #AAA1560169) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti ANG polyclonal antibody reacts with Human Other species were not tested and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ANG can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:2000-1:8000 IHC: 1:200-1:400. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ANG ang for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ANG, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
