Related Product Information for anti-ACVR2B antibody
ACVR2A and ACVR2B are two activin type II receptors. ACVR2B is integral to the activin and myostatin signaling pathway. Ligands such as activin and myostatin bind to ACVR2A and ACVR2B. Myostatin, a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth, is regarded as a potential therapeutic target and binds to ACVR2B effectively, and to a lesser extent, to ACVR2A. The structure of human ACVR2B kinase domain in complex with adenine establishes the conserved bilobal architecture consistent with all other catalytic kinase domains. Haplotype structure at the ACVR2B and follistatin loci may contribute to interindividual variation in skeletal muscle mass and strength. Defects in ACVR2B are a cause of left-right axis malformations.

Uniprot Description

ACVR2B: a tyrosine-kinase like receptor kinase of the STKR family. The holoreceptor receptor is a heteromeric complex of receptor serine kinases which include at least two type I (I and IB) and two type II (II and IIB) receptors. Each is composed of a ligand-binding extracellular domain with cysteine-rich region, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic kinase domain. Type II receptors are required for binding ligands and for expression of type I receptors. Type I and II receptors form a stable complex after ligand binding, resulting in phosphorylation of type I receptors by type II receptors. Type II receptor kinases are apparently constitutively active. The IIB receptor displays a 3- to 4-fold higher affinity for activin A than the II receptor.

Product Notes

The ACVR2B acvr2b (Catalog #AAA8111144) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ACVR2B Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ACVR2B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:1000 ELISA: 1:5000-1:10,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACVR2B acvr2b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ACVR2B, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
