The antisera were raised in rabbits which were immunized with synthetic human ACTH (1-24) covalently attached onto a carrier protein. The antibody is specific for this peptide and is suitable for immunohistochemical detection of ATCH (1-24). The pooled antisera have been characterized by RIA and ELISA techniques. Dilute the lyophilized antisera with 0.1 ml of 10 mg/ml BSA in PBS for the equivalent of whole antisera. or with additional buffer for more dilute antisera. The IgG fraction was prepared by precipitation. dialysis. and ion exchange chromatography
