Related Product Information for PEAK1 recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant human PEAK1 (1127-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
Scientific Background: PEAK1 or Pseudopodium-enriched atypical kinase 1 is a protein tyrosine kinase which belongs to NKF3 kinase family and regulates the cytoskeleton and has been shown to be involved in cancer progression (1). PEAK1 promotes anchorage-independent growth in the MDA-MB-435 human cancer cell line and promotes tumor progression of XPA-1 human pancreatic cancer cells when transplanted into the pancreas of nude mice. PEAK1 is highly expressed in spleen, followed by heart, ovary, brain, lung, kidney, and fetal brain (2).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that is a member of the new kinase family three (NFK3) family. In migrating cells, the encoded protein is associated with the actin cytoskeleton and focal adhesions and promotes developing focal adhesion elongation. This protein may play a role in the regulation of cell migration, proliferation and cancer metastasis. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]

Uniprot Description

PEAK1: a cytoskeleton-associated non-receptor tyrosine kinase that localizes to focal adhesions and actin filaments. Operates downstream of integrin and epidermal growth factor receptors, regulating the P130Cas-Crk-PXN and MAPK signaling. In the late stages of EGF signaling, SGK269 mediates Shc1 protein interactions involved in and cell spreading, migration, and morphogenesis. Amplified in a large fraction of colon cancer. Influences anchorage-independent growth and tumor progression in mice.

Product Notes

The PEAK1 peak1 (Catalog #AAA515575) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells using baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1127-end. AAA Biotech's PEAK1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Kinase Assay, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PEAK1 peak1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PEAK1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
