NAC transcription factor NST1. NST1 and NST2 are redundant in regulating secondary wall thickening in anther walls and siliques. NST1 promoter was detected in various tissues in which lignified secondary walls develop.

Together with NST2 and NST3, required for the secondary cell wall thickening of sclerenchymatous fibers, secondary xylem (tracheary elements), and of the anther endocethium, which is necessary for anther dehiscence.
