Synonyms
IFN gamma; Murine IFN gamma ELISpot Set; IFN-g (without plate); IFN gamma elispot set
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Murine. No cross reactivity with other murine cytokines.
Specificity
Recognizes natural murine IFN-g
Sequence Length

Samples
Dilute mouse splenocytes in culture medium and stimulator of interest (i.e. Sample, Vaccine, Peptide pool or infected cells) to give an appropriate cell number per 100ml. Optimal assay performances are observed between 1x105 and 2.5x105 cells per 100ml. Stimulators and incubation times can be varied depending on the frequency of cytokine producing cells and therefore should be optimised by the testing laboratory.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a soluble cytokine that is a member of the type II interferon class. The encoded protein is secreted by cells of the both the innate and adaptive immune systems. The active protein is a homodimer that binds to the interferon gamma receptor which triggers a cellular response to viral and microbial inflections. Mice deficient in this gene have increased susceptibility to viral, bacterial and parasitic infections and to several autoimmune diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

IFNG: Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons. Homodimer. Released primarily from activated T lymphocytes. Belongs to the type II (or gamma) interferon family.

Product Notes

The IFN gamma ifng (Catalog #AAA335553) is an ELISpot Set and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Murine IFN gamma ELISpot Set reacts with Murine. No cross reactivity with other murine cytokines. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IFN gamma, ELISpot Set" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
