Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for MED19 elisa kit
Description: This Mouse Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 19 (MED19) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MED19 in samples. An antibody specific for MED19 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MED19 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MED19 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MED19 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: The protein encoded by MED19 is a subunit of the Mediator complex, which binds to gene-specific regulatory factors and provides support for the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. MED19 has been implicated in the growth of several types of cancer, and inhibition of its expression inhibits the growth and spread of these cancers. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for MED19.

Uniprot Description

MED19: Component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. Mediator functions as a bridge to convey information from gene-specific regulatory proteins to the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. Mediator is recruited to promoters by direct interactions with regulatory proteins and serves as a scaffold for the assembly of a functional preinitiation complex with RNA polymerase II and the general transcription factors. Belongs to the Mediator complex subunit 19 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Cellular Component: Srb-mediator complex; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The Mouse MED19 med19 (Catalog #AAA9717675) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9717675 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse MED19. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Mediator Of RNA Polymerase II Transcription Subunit 19 (MED19), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
