Intended Uses: This kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of MMP11 in mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to MMP11. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to MMP11. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain MMP11, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of MMP11 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the matrix metalloproteinase family of endopeptidases that are involved in remodeling extracellular matrix during, for example, embryonic development and tumor progression. The encoded protein undergoes post-translational proteolytic processing by furin endopeptidase to form an active enzyme. Subcutaneous introduction of cells expressing the encoded protein into nude mice results in increased tumor incidence. Mice lacking the encoded protein exhibit a decreased incidence of chemically-induced tumors. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]
