Related Product Information for HPA elisa kit
Intended Uses: This kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of HPA in mouse serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to HPA. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to HPA. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain HPA, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of HPA in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an endoglucuronidase enzyme that plays an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis. The encoded preproprotein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate an active heterodimeric enzyme that cleaves the heparan sulfate proteoglycans associated with the cell surface and extracellular matrix. Mice lacking the encoded protein do not show any prominent pathological alterations under normal conditions but fail to develop albuminuria and renal damage in response to drug-induced diabetes. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]

Uniprot Description

Endoglycosidase that cleaves heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) into heparan sulfate side chains and core proteoglycans. Participates in extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation and remodeling. Selectively cleaves the linkage between a glucuronic acid unit and an N-sulfo glucosamine unit carrying either a 3-O-sulfo or a 6-O-sulfo group. Can also cleave the linkage between a glucuronic acid unit and an N-sulfo glucosamine unit carrying a 2-O-sulfo group, but not linkages between a glucuronic acid unit and a 2-O-sulfated iduronic acid moiety. It is essentially inactive at neutral pH but becomes active under acidic conditions such as during tumor invasion and in inflammatory processes. Facilitates cell migration associated with metastasis, wound healing and inflammation. Enhances shedding of syndecans, and increases endothelial invasion and angiogenesis in myelomas. Acts as procoagulant by increasing the generation of activation factor X in the presence of tissue factor and activation factor VII. Increases cell adhesion to the extacellular matrix (ECM), independent of its enzymatic activity. Induces AKT1/PKB phosphorylation via lipid rafts increasing cell mobility and invasion. Heparin increases this AKT1/PKB activation. Regulates osteogenesis. Enhances angiogenesis through up-regulation of SRC-mediated activation of VEGF. Implicated in hair follicle inner root sheath differentiation and hair homeostasis.

Product Notes

The Mouse HPA hpse (Catalog #AAA455786) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA455786 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse HPA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Heparanase (HPA), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
