Related Product Information for CALR3 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: CALR3 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-CALR3 antibody and an CALR3-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CALR3-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CALR3 concentration since CALR3 from samples and CALR3-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CALR3 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CALR3 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CALR3-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CALR3 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the calreticulin family, members of which are calcium-binding chaperones localized mainly in the endoplasmic reticulum. This protein is also localized to the endoplasmic reticulum lumen, however, its capacity for calcium-binding may be absent or much lower than other family members. This gene is specifically expressed in the testis, and may be required for sperm fertility. Mutation in this gene has been associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Uniprot Description

calreticulin 3: During spermatogenesis, may act as a lectin-independent chaperone for specific client proteins such as ADAM3. Required for sperm fertility. CALR3 capacity for calcium- binding may be absent or much lower than that of CALR. Defects in CALR3 are the cause of familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 19 (CMH19). CMH19 is a hereditary heart disorder characterized by ventricular hypertrophy, which is usually asymmetric and often involves the interventricular septum. The symptoms include dyspnea, syncope, collapse, palpitations, and chest pain. They can be readily provoked by exercise. The disorder has inter- and intrafamilial variability ranging from benign to malignant forms with high risk of cardiac failure and sudden cardiac death. Belongs to the calreticulin family.

Product Notes

The Mouse CALR3 calr3 (Catalog #AAA7239797) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7239797 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse CALR3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calreticulin-3 (CALR3), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
