Related Product Information for anti-TUBB2b antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is a beta isoform of tubulin, which binds GTP and is a major component of microtubules. Multiple beta Tubulin isoforms have been characterized and are expressed in mammalian tissues. Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. TUBB2b is mainly expressed in developing neurons with a dominant expression during the critical steps of corticogenesis. Also, TUBB2B is a new critical gene involved in neuronal migration. It is present in the nuclei and nucleoplasm, Defects in this gene are a cause of asymmetric polymicrogyria.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a beta isoform of tubulin, which binds GTP and is a major component of microtubules. This gene is highly similar to TUBB2A and TUBB2C. Defects in this gene are a cause of asymmetric polymicrogyria. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules (PubMed:23001566, PubMed:28013290, PubMed:26732629). It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain (). Plays a critical role in proper axon guidance in both central and peripheral axon tracts (PubMed:23001566). Implicated in neuronal migration (PubMed:19465910).

Product Notes

The TUBB2b tubb2b (Catalog #AAA200174) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TUBB2b antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TUBB2b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot, and Immunofluorescence analyses to assure specificity and reactivity. Since applications vary, however, each investigation should be titrated by a reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis and Immunofluorescence is 1:250 ~ 500. Recommended starting dilution is 1:250. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TUBB2b tubb2b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TUBB2b, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
