Related Product Information for anti-TLR8 antibody
The Toll-like receptor (TLR) family in mammal comprises a family of transmembrane proteins characterized by multiple copies of leucine rich repeats in the extracellular domain and IL-1 receptor motif in the cytoplasmic domain. Like its counterparts in Drosophila, TLRs signal through adaptor molecules. The TRL family is a phylogenetically conserved mediator of innate immunity that is essential for microbial recognition. Ten human homologs of TLRs (TLR1-10) have been described. TLR8 gene contains three exons, two of which have coding function. TLR8 cDNA codes for a protein of approximate molecular weight of 120kD.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved from Drosophila to humans and share structural and functional similarities. They recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) that are expressed on infectious agents, and mediate the production of cytokines necessary for the development of effective immunity. The various TLRs exhibit different patterns of expression. This gene is predominantly expressed in lung and peripheral blood leukocytes, and lies in close proximity to another family member, TLR7, on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TLR8: Key component of innate and adaptive immunity. TLRs (Toll-like receptors) control host immune response against pathogens through recognition of molecular patterns specific to microorganisms. Acts via MYD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Belongs to the Toll-like receptor family.

Product Notes

The TLR8 (Catalog #AAA606491) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TLR8 (Toll Like Receptor 8, Toll-like Receptor 8, TLR 8, CD288, CD288 Antigen, MGC119599, MGC119600) (PE) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TLR8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 0.5-2ug labels 1x10e6 cells. Ramos cells can be used as a positive control. Western Blot: A band of ~120kD was detected with transfected cell lysates. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TLR8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TLR8, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
