NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Synaptic vesicle membrane docking and fusion is mediated by SNAREs (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors) located on the vesicle membrane (v-SNAREs) and the target membrane (t-SNAREs). The assembled v-SNARE/t-SNARE complex consists of a bundle of four helices, one of which is supplied by v-SNARE and the other three by t-SNARE. For t-SNAREs on the plasma membrane, the protein syntaxin supplies one helix and the protein encoded by this gene contributes the other two. Therefore, this gene product is a presynaptic plasma membrane protein involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. Two alternative transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
SNAP-25: a presynaptic plasma membrane protein involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. May play an important role in the synaptic function of specific neuronal systems. Part of the SNARE core complex containing SNAP25, VAMP2 and syntaxin 1A. Associates with proteins involved in vesicle docking and membrane fusion. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The SNAP-25 snap25 (Catalog #AAA212090) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOUSE ANTI HUMAN SNAP-25 reacts with Gerbil, Hamster, Pig, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SNAP-25 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). Immunohistology: This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections. This product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 1/2000; Maximum Dilution: 1/5000 Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1/500; Maximum Dilution: 1/5000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SNAP-25 snap25 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SNAP-25, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
