Related Product Information for anti-SORBS1 antibody
Afadin is an actin filament-binding protein that is involved in cell-cell adherens junctions (AJs) which directly interacts with the alpha herpus virus receptor, a member of the immunoglobulin supergene family. Afadin is colocalized with nectin at cadherin-based cell-cell adherence junctions in various tissues and cell lines. L-Afadin has been isolated as an F-actin-binding protein from rat brain. L-afadin is ubiquitously expressed and specifically localized at zonula adherens (ZA) in epithelial cells and at cell-cell adherens junctions (AJs) in non-epithelial cells. L-afadin has a splice variant, named small intestine absorptive afadin (s-afadin) which is abundantly expressed in neural tissue.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a CBL-associated protein which functions in the signaling and stimulation of insulin. Mutations in this gene may be associated with human disorders of insulin resistance. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]

Uniprot Description

SORBS1: Plays a role in tyrosine phosphorylation of CBL by linking CBL to the insulin receptor. Required for insulin- stimulated glucose transport. Involved in formation of actin stress fibers and focal adhesions. 12 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q23.33

Cellular Component: centrosome; nuclear matrix; focal adhesion; zonula adherens; cytosol; cell-substrate adherens junction; lipid raft; nucleoplasm; cell-cell adherens junction; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; stress fiber; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; SH3/SH2 adaptor activity; cytoskeletal protein binding; actin binding; protein kinase binding; insulin receptor binding

Biological Process: focal adhesion formation; positive regulation of glucose import; cellular response to insulin stimulus; muscle contraction; positive regulation of signal transduction; cell-matrix adhesion; positive regulation of glycogen biosynthetic process; stress fiber formation; insulin receptor signaling pathway; glucose transport; positive regulation of lipid biosynthetic process

Product Notes

The SORBS1 sorbs1 (Catalog #AAA633108) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Ponsin (1-Afadin-binding protein) reacts with Canine, Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Ponsin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:50 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50. Fixation with PFA or acetone/methanol is recommended. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SORBS1 sorbs1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ponsin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
