Related Product Information for Lambda Light Chain secondary antibody
Immunoglobulins recognize foreign antigens and initiate immune responses such as phagocytosis and the complement system. Each immunoglobulin molecule consists of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains. There are two types of light chains designated as kappa and lambda (1). Light chain types are based on differences in the amino acid sequence in the constant region of the light chain. If a cell is unsuccessful in rearranging both of its kappa light chain genes, it then attempts to make a lambda light chain. If a cell successfully rearranges a lambda light chain gene, it will be a B cell that makes an immunoglobulin with a lambda light chain (2).

Uniprot Description

IGLV1-51: V segment of the variable region of immunoglobulins light chain that participates to the antigen recognition. Immunoglobulins (Igs), also known as antibodies, are membrane- bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes. In the recognition phase of humoral immunity, the membrane-bound Igs serve as receptors which, upon binding of a specific antigen (Ag), trigger the clonal expansion and differentiation of B lymphocytes into Ig-secreting plasma cells. Secreted Igs mediate the effector phase of humoral immunity, which results in the elimination of bound antigens (PubMed:20176268, PubMed:22158414). The antigen binding site is formed by the variable region of one heavy chain, together with that of its associated light chain. Thus, each Ig has two antigen binding sites with remarkable affinity for a particular antigen. The variable regions are assembled by a process called V(D)J recombination and can then be subjected to somatic hypermutation after exposure to antigen to allow affinity maturation for a particular Ag (PubMed:20176268, PubMed:17576170). {ECO:0000303|PubMed:17576170, ECO:0000303|PubMed:20176268, ECO:0000303|PubMed:22158414}. Immunoglobulins are composed of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains, linked by disulfide bonds. {ECO:0000303|PubMed:20176268}

Product Notes

The Lambda Light Chain (Catalog #AAA6188596) is a Secondary Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Lambda Light Chain (MaxLight 405) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Lambda Light Chain can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FLISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). FLISA: 1:1000 IHC: 1:10-50 WB: 1:500-16000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Lambda Light Chain for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lambda Light Chain, Monoclonal Secondary Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
