Related Product Information for anti-Kcnc1 antibody
Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. The protein encoded by the Kv3.1b gene is a member of the delayed rectifier class of channel proteins and is an integral membrane protein that mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Diminshed Kv3.1b expression appears to correlate with functional decline in the medial olivocochlear efferent system. Other studies indicate that Kv3.1b channels can be oxygen sensors.

NCBI Description

voltage gated potassium channel; functions as a delayed rectifier K+ channel [RGD]

Uniprot Description

Kv3.1: Mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a potassium-selective channel through which potassium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. Belongs to the potassium channel family. C (Shaw) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv3.1/KCNC1 sub-subfamily.

Protein type: Channel, potassium; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: voltage-gated potassium channel complex; cell surface; membrane; cell soma; dendrite; integral to membrane; axolemma

Molecular Function: voltage-gated potassium channel activity; protein binding; kinesin binding; delayed rectifier potassium channel activity

Biological Process: response to toxin; response to light intensity; cerebellum development; globus pallidus development; brain development; protein homooligomerization; response to amine stimulus

Product Notes

The Kcnc1 kcnc1 (Catalog #AAA190529) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 437-585. The Anti-Kv3.1b K+ Channel Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, mouse, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Kv3.1b K+ Channel can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoblot; Immunohistochemistry; Immunocytochemistry; Immunofluorescence. Immunoblotting: use at 1-10ug/ml. A band of -110kDa is detected. Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. use at 0.1-1ug/ml. Immunofluorescence: use at 1-10ug/ml. These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application. Positive control: Rat brain lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Kcnc1 kcnc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kv3.1b K+ Channel, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
