Testing Data (Purification of IgD. (a) Elution profile of the final Superdex S200 gel-filtration column. IgD was eluted as a single peak from which fractions 2 -4 were concentrated for the scattering experiments. (b) SDS-PAGE analysis of IgD (lane 1) and molecular mass markers (lane 2) run under reducing conditions and stained with Coomassie brilliant blue. Molecular masses are shown in kDa. (c) Western blot analysis of IgD (lane 1) from reducing SDS-PAGE. Image from: Sun et al (2005). JMB 353: 155-73. Western blot detection of IgD accomplished using Mouse anti Human IgD (Fc))

Related Product Information for anti-IgD antibody
Mouse anti Human IgD (Fc) antibody, clone LE2 recognizes an epitope located in the Fc region the heavy chain of human immunoglobulin D (IgD). Human IgD existst in two forms, the major membrane bound form which is co-expressed with IgM on the surface of mature B-cells (Blattner et al. 1984) and a minor secreted form comprising about 0.25% total serum Ig (Rogentine et al. 1966). Membrane bound IgD bears predominantly the kappa light chain whereas the secreted form has predominantly lambda light chains (Preud'homme et al. 2000)

Uniprot Description

IGHD: IgD is the major antigen receptor isotype on the surface of most peripheral B-cells, where it is coexpressed with IgM. The membrane-bound IgD (mIgD) induces the phosphorylation of CD79A and CD79B by the Src family of protein tyrosine kinases. Soluble IgD (sIgD) concentration in serum below those of IgG, IgA, and IgM but much higher than that of IgE. IgM and IgD molecules present on B cells have identical V regions and antigen-binding sites. After the antigen binds to the B-cell receptor, the secreted form sIgD is shut off. IgD is a potent inducer of TNF, IL1B, and IL1RN. IgD also induces release of IL6, IL10, and LIF from peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Monocytes seem to be the main producers of cytokines in vitro in the presence of IgD. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The IgD ighd (Catalog #AAA213109) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's IgD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen. Immunohistology - Frozen: Minimum Dilution: 1/100; Maximum Dilution: 1/300. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IgD ighd for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IgD, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
