Preparation and Storage
This antibody can be stored at 2 degree C- 8 degree C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for anti-CTSE  antibody
Cathepsin E Protein (CTSE Protein) is a member of the peptidase C1 family that is a gastric aspartic protease that functions as a disulfide-linked homodimer. Cathepsin E Protein (CTSE Protein) is predominantly present in the cells of immune system and is frequently implicated in antigen processing via the MHC classII pathway which however does not appear to be involved in the digestion of dietary protein. The protein has a specificity similar to that of pepsin and pepsin. Cathepsin E Protein (CTSE Protein) is found in highest concentration in the surface of epithelial mucus-producing cells of the stomach and also been found in more than half of the gastric cancers. It appears, therefore, to be an oncofetal antigen.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the peptidase A1 family of aspartate proteases and preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate a mature protein product. The encoded protein may be involved in antigen processing and the maturation of secretory proteins. Elevated expression of this gene has been observed in neurodegeneration. Homozygous knockout mice for this gene exhibit lysosomal storage disorder, impaired autophagy, mitochondrial abnormalities, dermatitis, and reduced weight gain in an obesity model. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]

Uniprot Description

CTSE: May have a role in immune function. Probably involved in the processing of antigenic peptides during MHC class II-mediated antigen presentation. May play a role in activation-induced lymphocyte depletion in the thymus, and in neuronal degeneration and glial cell activation in the brain. Belongs to the peptidase A1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.4.23.34; Protease

Cellular Component: endosome

Molecular Function: aspartic-type endopeptidase activity; protein homodimerization activity

Biological Process: antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class II; protein autoprocessing; protein catabolic process

Product Notes

The CTSE  ctse (Catalog #AAA2544610) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti Mouse CTSE  Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CTSE  can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 0.1-0.2 mug/mL. This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 mug/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse CTSE. The detection limit for Mouse CTSE is approximately 0.0049 ng/well. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CTSE  ctse for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CTSE , Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
