Protein Construction
A DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain of mouse CTSE (NP_031825.2)(Met 1-Pro 397) was expressed, with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Reconstitution
A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.
Preparation and Storage
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid.
They are shipped out with blue ice.

Related Product Information for CTSE recombinant protein
Background: Cathepsin E Protein (CTSE Protein) is a member of the peptidase C1 family that is a gastric aspartic protease that functions as a disulfide-linked homodimer. Cathepsin E Protein (CTSE Protein) is predominantly present in the cells of immune system and is frequently implicated in antigen processing via the MHC classII pathway which however does not appear to be involved in the digestion of dietary protein. The protein has a specificity similar to that of pepsin and pepsin. Cathepsin E Protein (CTSE Protein) is found in highest concentration in the surface of epithelial mucus-producing cells of the stomach and also been found in more than half of the gastric cancers. It appears, therefore, to be an oncofetal antigen.

Molecular Weight
The secreted recombinant mouse CTSE (pro form) consists of 390 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 42.4kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, the apparent molecular mass of rmCTSE is approximately 45-48kDa due to glycosylation.

Product Notes

The CTSE (Catalog #AAA8122823) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Pro39 7. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cathepsin E, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
