Related Product Information for anti-CRABP2 antibody
The cellular retinoic acid-binding protein II (CRABP-II) is involved in the conversion of vitamin A into its intracellular active form retinoic acid, which regulate the genes responsible for lipid metabolism and adipocyte differentiation. CRABP2 gene is located on chromosome 1q21-23 and this region has been linked with related disorders such as familial combined hyperlipidemia (FCHL) and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the retinoic acid (RA, a form of vitamin A) binding protein family and lipocalin/cytosolic fatty-acid binding protein family. The protein is a cytosol-to-nuclear shuttling protein, which facilitates RA binding to its cognate receptor complex and transfer to the nucleus. It is involved in the retinoid signaling pathway, and is associated with increased circulating low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.

Uniprot Description

CRABP2: Transports retinoic acid to the nucleus. Regulates the access of retinoic acid to the nuclear retinoic acid receptors. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; endoplasmic reticulum; cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: retinoid binding; retinoic acid binding; transporter activity; retinol binding; retinal binding

Biological Process: embryonic forelimb morphogenesis; epidermis development; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; retinoic acid metabolic process; signal transduction; transmembrane transport

Product Notes

The CRABP2 crabp2 (Catalog #AAA608325) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CRABP2 (cellular retinoic acid-binding protein II), Cellular retinoic acid-binding protein 2, CRABP-II, RBP6, Retinoic acid-binding protein II, Cellular) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CRABP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:250-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CRABP2 crabp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CRABP2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
