Plays a major role in tight junction-specific obliteration of the intercellular space.
This gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets, and also play critical roles in maintaining cell polarity and signal transductions. Differential expression of this gene has been observed in different types of malignancies, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, hepatocellular carcinomas, urinary tumors, prostate cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancers, thyroid carcinomas, etc.. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Product Notes

The CLDN7 cldn7 (Catalog #AAA4753992) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Claudin 7 (10E7) Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Claudin 7 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P: 1:100-1:500 WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CLDN7 cldn7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Claudin 7, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
