Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description
specific electron acceptor for several dehydrogenases, including acyl-coA dehyrogenases, glutaryl-coA and sarcosine dehydrogenase; transfers electrons to the main mitochondrial respiratory chain [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
ETFA: The electron transfer flavoprotein serves as a specific electron acceptor for several dehydrogenases, including five acyl- CoA dehydrogenases, glutaryl-CoA and sarcosine dehydrogenase. It transfers the electrons to the main mitochondrial respiratory chain via ETF-ubiquinone oxidoreductase (ETF dehydrogenase). Defects in ETFA are the cause of glutaric aciduria type 2A (GA2A); also known as glutaricaciduria IIA. GA2A is an autosomal recessively inherited disorder of fatty acid, amino acid, and choline metabolism. It is characterized by multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiencies resulting in large excretion not only of glutaric acid, but also of lactic, ethylmalonic, butyric, isobutyric, 2-methyl-butyric, and isovaleric acids. Belongs to the ETF alpha-subunit/FixB family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Oxidoreductase; Mitochondrial
Cellular Component: mitochondrion; mitochondrial matrix
Molecular Function: FAD binding; electron carrier activity; oxidoreductase activity

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Electron Transfer Flavoprotein Alpha Polypeptide (ETFa), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
