Clara cells are dome-shaped cells with short microvilli found in the small airways (bronchioles) of the lungs.[1] Clara cells are found in the ciliated simple epithelium. These cells may secrete glycosaminoglycans to protect the bronchiole lining. Bronchiolar cells gradually increase in number as the number of goblet cells decrease. They are also known as "bronchiolar exocrine cells".[2] One of the main functions of Clara cells is to protect the bronchiolar epithelium. They do this by secreting a small variety of products, including Clara cell secretory protein (CCSP) and a solution similar to the component of the lung surfactant. They are also responsible for detoxifying harmful substances inhaled into the lungs. Clara cells accomplish this with cytochrome P450 enzymes found in their smooth endoplasmic reticulum. Clara cells also act as a stem cell and multiply and differentiate into ciliated cells to regenerate the bronchiolar epithelium.[5][edit]Mechanism

Product Notes
The Clara Cell Protein (Catalog #AAA648554) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Clara Cell Protein (CC16, CC10, Uteroglobin, Urinary Protein 1, Clara Cell Secretory Protein, Secretoglobin Family 1A Member 1, CCPBP, Clara Cells 10kD Secretory Protein, CC10, UP1, Clara Cell Phospholipid-binding Protein, SCGB1A1, CCSP, UGB) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Clara Cell Protein can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000, Flow Cytometry: 1:200-1:400, ELISA: 1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Clara Cell Protein for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Clara Cell Protein, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
