Related Product Information for anti-CD31 antibody
Hamster anti Mouse CD31 monoclonal antibody, clone 2H8 recognizes murine CD31, also known as Platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule or PECAM-1. CD31 is a ~130kDa single pass type-1 membrane glycoprotein bearing six C2 Ig-like domains, expressed on all continuous endothelium including arteries, veins and non-sinusoidal capillaries. CD31 is also expressed on all haemopoietic lineages with the exception of the erythroid line (Bogen et al. 1992). Hamster anti mouse CD31, clone 2H8 effectively inhibits transmigration of activated polymorphonuclear cells and monocytes across the endothelium. In a mouse model for acute peritonitis clone 2H8 blocks acute inflammation (Bogen et al. 1994). CD31 has also been shown to be critically involved in the sensing of changes in shear stress associated with atherosclerotic lesions and in the associated atherogenesis (Stevens et al. 2008).

Uniprot Description

PECAM-1: a cell adhesion molecule expressed on platelets and at endothelial cell intercellular junctions. Plays a role in modulation of integrin-mediated cell adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, cell migration, negative regulation of immune cell signaling, autoimmunity, macrophage phagocytosis, IgE-mediated anaphylaxis and thrombosis. Undergoes alternative splicing, generating multiple isoforms in vascular beds of various tissues.

Product Notes

The CD31 pecam1 (Catalog #AAA210144) is an Antibody produced from Hamster and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD31 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow cytometry (FC), Functional Assays (FN), Immunofluorescence (IF). Flow Cytometry: Use 5ul of the suggested working dilution to label 100ul of whole blood. Flow Cytometry: Maximum Dilution: 0.1ug/ml Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD31 pecam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD31, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
