Related Product Information for anti-CD172b antibody
CD172b, the signal-regulatory protein beta (SIRP beta) is a disulfide-linked homodimer expressed on myeloid cells including monocytes and dendritic cells. Similarly to CD172a, it serves as a negative regulator of tyrosine kinase-coupled signaling processes. Unlike CD172a, the CD172b protein does not possess the cytoplasmic domain, but instead its transmembrane domain can interact with another transmembrane protein DAP-12, which contains ITAM sequences in its intracellular domain and links CD172b to the downstream signaling molecules. The result is e.g. regulation of neutrophil transepithelial migration.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the signal-regulatory-protein (SIRP) family, and also belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIRP family members are receptor-type transmembrane glycoproteins known to be involved in the negative regulation of receptor tyrosine kinase-coupled signaling processes. This protein was found to interact with TYROBP/DAP12, a protein bearing immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs. This protein was also reported to participate in the recruitment of tyrosine kinase SYK. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

Uniprot Description

SIRPB1: Immunoglobulin-like cell surface receptor involved in the negative regulation of receptor tyrosine kinase-coupled signaling processes. Participates also in the recruitment of tyrosine kinase SYK. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CD172b sirpb1 (Catalog #AAA1800387) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Hu CD172b Purified reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD172b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). FC/FACS: QC tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD172b sirpb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD172b, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
