NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of P-type cation transport ATPases. This magnesium-dependent enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the transport of calcium ions. Defects in this gene cause Hailey-Hailey disease, an autosomal dominant disorder. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Uniprot Description
ATP2C1: This magnesium-dependent enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the transport of the calcium. Defects in ATP2C1 are the cause of Hailey-Hailey disease (HHD); also known as benign familial pemphigus. HHD is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by persistent blisters and suprabasal cell separation (acantholysis) of the epidermis, due to impaired keratinocyte adhesion. Patients lacking all isoforms except isoform 2 have HHD. Belongs to the cation transport ATPase (P-type) (TC 3.A.3) family. Type IIA subfamily. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The ATP2C1 atp2c1 (Catalog #AAA7125113) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ATP2C1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ATP2C1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:1000-1:5000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATP2C1 atp2c1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATP2C1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
