RAT ANTI HUMAN AID

Gene Names
AICDA; AID; ARP2; CDA2; HIGM2; HEL-S-284
Applications
ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Functional Assay, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot
Synonyms
AID; Monoclonal Antibody; RAT ANTI HUMAN AID; anti-AID antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Rat
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG2b
Clone Number
EK2-5G9
Specificity
This item specifically recognizes human AID (Activation-induced cytidine deaminase), a 24kDa RNA-editing enzyme essential for the initiation of immunoglobulin class switch recombination (CSR), somatic hypermutation (SHM) and gene conversion (GC). Studies suggest that AID is selectively expressed by germinal centre (GC) B cells and B cell-derived lymphomas, and that a deficiency in AID is responsible for the autosomal recessive form of the immunodeficient condition Hyper-IgM syndrome.

Applicable Applications for anti-AID antibody
ELISA (EIA), Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)*, Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul.
Flow Cytometry: Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. EDTA pH8.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: Membrane permeabilisation is required for this application. MyBioSource recommends the use of Leucoperm for this purpose.

0.09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Preparation
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 185-198 of human AID.
Histology Positive Control Tissue
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a RNA-editing deaminase that is a member of the cytidine deaminase family. The protein is involved in somatic hypermutation, gene conversion, and class-switch recombination of immunoglobulin genes. Defects in this gene are the cause of autosomal recessive hyper-IgM immunodeficiency syndrome type 2 (HIGM2). [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

Uniprot Description

AID: Single-stranded DNA-specific cytidine deaminase. Involved in somatic hypermutation, gene conversion, and class- switch recombination in B-lymphocytes. Required for several crucial steps of B-cell terminal differentiation necessary for efficient antibody responses. May also play a role in the epigenetic regulation of gene expression by participating in DNA demethylation. Strongly expressed in lymph nodes and tonsils. Belongs to the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase family.

Protein type: EC 3.5.4.38; Hydrolase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12p13

Molecular Function: protein binding; zinc ion binding; ubiquitin protein ligase binding; cytidine deaminase activity

Biological Process: somatic diversification of immunoglobulins; B cell differentiation; somatic hypermutation of immunoglobulin genes; isotype switching; cytidine deamination; mRNA processing

Product Notes

The AID aicda (Catalog #AAA219435) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's AID can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)*, Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AID aicda for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AID, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
