Background: MLLT3 (Myeloid/Lymphoid Or Mixed-Lineage Leukemia Translocated To Chromosome 3 Protein), also known as YEATS3 or AF9, is a chromatin reader component of the super elongation complex (SEC), a complex required to increase the catalytic rate of RNA polymerase II transcription by suppressing transient pausing by the polymerase at multiple sites along the DNA. It specifically recognizes and binds acylated histone H3, with a marked preference for histone H3 that is crotonylated. Crotonylation marks active promoters and enhancers and confers resistance to transcriptional repressors. MLLT3 recognizes and binds histone H3 crotonylated at Lys-9 (H3K9cr), and with slightly lower affinity histone H3 crotonylated at Lys-18 (H3K18cr). It also recognizes and binds histone H3 acetylated at Lys-9 (H3K9ac), but with lower affinity than crotonylated histone H3. In the SEC complex, MLLT3 is required to recruit the complex to crotonylated histones.

Product Notes
The MLLT3/AF9 mllt3 (Catalog #AAA389181) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MLLT3/AF9, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
