Endotoxin Level
<1.0EU/ug of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree -8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for MIF recombinant protein
Recombinant Human MIF was expressed in E Coli cells. The protein accession number is P14174
Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) is a proinflammatory cytokine. MIF is involved in the innate immune response to bacterial pathogens. The expression of MIF at sites of inflammation suggests a role as mediator in regulating the function of macrophages in host defense. Counteracts the anti-inflammatory activity of glucocorticoids. Has phenylpyruvate tautomerase and dopachrome tautomerase activity (in vitro), but the physiological substrate is not known. It is not clear whether the tautomerase activity has any physiological relevance, and whether it is important for cytokine activity.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a lymphokine involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. It plays a role in the regulation of macrophage function in host defense through the suppression of anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. This lymphokine and the JAB1 protein form a complex in the cytosol near the peripheral plasma membrane, which may indicate an additional role in integrin signaling pathways. Uniprot Description

MIF: a lymphokine involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. Also acts as a phenylpyruvate tautomerase.

Product Notes

The MIF mif (Catalog #AAA517294) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MIF can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Cell Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MIF mif for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MIF, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
