May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for Il6 recombinant protein
Recombinant Interleukin-6 comprises a 184 amino acid fragment (29-211) corresponding to the mature Interleukin-6 protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag.

Interleukin-6 is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine primarily produced by activated T cells and an assortment of other cells including endothelial cells and macrophages. IL-6 affects B and T lymphocytes and has been shown to have a role in host defence, acute phase reactions, immune responses and hematopoiesis.

NCBI Description

a cytokine involved in development and possibly in neurodegenerative processes [RGD]

Uniprot Description

Function: Cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions. It is a potent inducer of the acute phase response. Plays an essential role in the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells Involved in lymphocyte and monocyte differentiation. It induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth and induces nerve cells differentiation Acts on B-cells, T-cells, hepatocytes, hematopoeitic progenitor cells and cells of the CNS. Also acts as a myokine. It is discharged into the bloodstream after muscle contraction and acts to increase the breakdown of fats and to improve insulin resistance

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IL-6 superfamily.

Product Notes

The Il6 il6 (Catalog #AAA650305) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human, Recombinant, E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Interleukin 6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA). Suitable for use in ELISA.,, Recommended Dilution:, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Il6 il6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin 6, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
