Human OSBPL1A ELISA Kit | OSBPL1A elisa kit
Human OSBPL1A (Oxysterol Binding Protein Like Protein 1A) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to OSBPL1A. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for OSBPL1Aand Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain OSBPL1A, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of OSBPL1A.You can calculate the concentration of OSBPL1Ain the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, a group of intracellular lipid receptors. Most members contain an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a highly conserved C-terminal OSBP-like sterol-binding domain, although some members contain only the sterol-binding domain. Transcript variants derived from alternative promoter usage and/or alternative splicing exist; they encode different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
OSBPL1A: Binds phospholipids; exhibits strong binding to phosphatidic acid and weak binding to phosphatidylinositol 3- phosphate. Stabilizes GTP-bound RAB7A on late endosomes/lysosomes and alters functional properties of late endocytic compartments via its interaction with RAB7A. Belongs to the OSBP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 18q11.1
Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; lysosomal membrane; late endosome; cytoplasm; intracellular; nucleus
Molecular Function: protein binding; cholesterol binding; phospholipid binding
Biological Process: vesicle-mediated transport; cholesterol metabolic process; antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class II; lipid transport

Product Notes
The Human OSBPL1A osbpl1a (Catalog #AAA2516076) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2516076 ELISA Kit recognizes Human OSBPL1A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "OSBPL1A, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
