Principle of the Assay: Human Myeloid Zinc Finger 1 (MZF1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MZF1 in samples. An antibody specific for MZF1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MZF1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human MZF1 detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MZF1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background/Introduction: Myeloid zinc finger 1 (MZF1) is a member of the SCAN domain family transcription factors that form dimers through their highly conserved SCAN motifs. Silencing of MZF1 inhibits cell proliferation, and abnormal expression of MZF1 results in cancer development. However, a potential role of MZF1 in metastasis remains unclear.

Uniprot Description

MZF-1: Binds to target promoter DNA and functions as trancription regulator. Regulates transcription from the PADI1 and CDH2 promoter. May be one regulator of transcriptional events during hemopoietic development. Belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor; C2H2-type zinc finger protein

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.4

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; metal ion binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: transcription, DNA-dependent; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The Human MZF1 mzf1 (Catalog #AAA9715064) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9715064 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MZF1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Myeloid Zinc Finger 1 (MZF1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
